Accelerator for Entrepreneurship and Partnerships
Challenge
Music entrepreneurs operate in an economically uncertain market, where revenues from, for example, streaming are low and require high volume to become sustainable. At the same time, competition is global, and visibility often depends on platform algorithms that use artists’ content to generate revenue for themselves. Musicians must also navigate complex rights structures and often manage management, marketing, creative work, and business operations themselves. A lack of networks and access to stages further makes it difficult to establish a sustainable career.
Solution
BARC facilitates an educational programme consisting of 8 webinars and 3 seminars that strengthen music entrepreneurs’ business understanding, digital competencies, and insight into sustainable revenue models. Through teaching and practice-oriented exercises, participants learn to navigate rights, partnerships, value creation, strategic marketing, and management. The seminars provide opportunities for networking and direct contact with industry stakeholders, which can open doors to stages and collaborations. A final pitch in front of an industry panel trains participants to present their projects professionally and create concrete career opportunities.
